Now that we have ActiveRain RSS Feed
what can we do with it? Submitting your RSS Feed can be confusing and time
consuming. Never the less is is very important to promote our blog (site or
listings) to search engines.
There are a lot of lists out there of links to submit your RSS/XML feeds. However, many of those lists are outdated and include sites that require registration to submit your feed. Here below I gathered some of most popular submission sites, You can chose from Automatic or Manual Submission.
1. Feed Submitter - Automatic Free -
Google Ping
Technorati
Technorati Ping
Blogdigger
BloogZ
BlogStreet
If you want to make sure your blog is listed in Google blog search right away you can use Google ping now and bookmark or link to this page and submit your RSS feed to the directories after you have added more posts to your blog.
Here is a list of sites where the user does not have to create a registration to submit a feed. I thought this would be a quick way for you to gain feed subscribers, increase back links, and site traffic. You should be able to go through this list under a half an hour.
Bonus: RSS Mage accepts video, picks and flash content.

Where to start!
RSS
(Rich Site Summary) is a format for delivering regularly changing web
content. Many news-related sites, weblogs and other on-line publishers
syndicate their content as an RSS Feed to whoever wants it.
You don't have to worry about anything else at the moment. Just grab the URL address of your RSS feed of:
- ActiveRain Blog... See at the left side of your page under the vertical navigation bar... those 2 icons:
Click on them to get the URL address... That is YOUR RSS & ATOM address of your blog!
- Outside Blog... Go on YOUR Outside Blog page (if you have upload it) and see this icon on the let upper corner of your page
Click on it to get the URL address... That is YOUR RSS address of your blog!
Now that you have the HTML address of your RSS go and submit them to search engines.
GOOD LUCK!

QUESTION ASKED: What is the difference between RSS and
Atom?
ANSWER: RSS and Atom are functionally equivalent for
users.
Atom is better than RSS. Still, sometimes it is the job of the application developers to choose between Atom and RSS. If part of the answer is that Google Reader and Facebook have better support for Atom then I need to consider that when picking a format for the default. It is about the same. RSS has nine versions. Atom is still rather new, so it doesn't have as many versions. Some people claim RSS is less flexible than Atom when it comes to adapting to change and new technologies.
In my opinion just go with your RSS address when signing up for a subscribing.

This list is GREAT! Definitely a bookmark...Thanks!
Incredible information Arina! I hadn't thought to submit my new AR blog to all these places. Google came to mind and that was it.
Thanks! I needed the info and you made it all very clear. I appreciate it!
Over the last year I have submitted my feeds to at least a hundred different places and my local blogs are now syndicated too.
Thanks Arina, I am an older agent trying to catch up with the new technologies and this is the kind of information that I am looking for.
Arina- this is one great post! Thanks for posting. I have an auto submission software that I use that auto populates all my reg forms, etc. Thank you for posting these!
Arina - Thank you. Not being a techie, rss feeds is not something that I understand. In order to submit my rss feed do I need to know something other tan my blog url? Does the feed have its own url?
Arina, Thank you for the information. I have been considering RSS for a while but have not gotten around to it. I bookmarked you post to help when I get around to it. Thanks again for your effort.
Arina, thanks for the Feed Submitter link. I found that some of the connections failed to connect to the RSS feed while others connected successfully. Whatever we can do to get more exposure out there is good. I am amazed all the manual sites you found for submission. You are a wealth of information.
Ok, I keep hearing this term, RSS Feed...and sites I've been on, some have mentioned it, but not one explains what it is. I have no clue. What's an RSS Feed?
Arina
Thanks for the list, every tip helps.
Hi Ariana. Thanks for sharing the great links! Keep them coming.
Gregory If you follow up on this comment and come back for the answer here it is:

Arina, I probably fall into the older agent dabbling in tech profile. :-)
What is the difference between RSS and ATOM?
If we have an outside blog (outside of Active Rain) would we also submit that one; can you submit more than one blog?
Thanks for the post and I hope its okay to ask questions in the comments.
Thanks Arina - you are a very good instructor!

This is great information! I hadn't even thought about submitting my AR Blog RSS Feed. Thanks so much for this post.
I tried to get my outside blog's rss feed but I got an error message. Is there something else that I need to do to get that to work?
Thanks Arina! I still don't get all the nuances of blogging and thought this was automatically being done already. Silly me. Bookmarked for tomorrow!
Wow, always wondered how this all worked. Thank you for the information. Gotta get to posting my RSS feed. Seems every time I'm having a question about something there is an expert that blogs about it on Active Rain. AR is the best!
Arina - you mention that RSS Feed can be confusing and time consuming, that is true for me. I don't fully understand all this RSS feed stuff and post like this will help me learn. Great information, thanks for sharing.
Nishika, You're welcome. Glad to help.
Debbie, If you take a half hour to go through the Manual Submission... it going to be great. A little headacke with good result.
Melody, Nothing makes me happier that to help.

Click on this image on the top right side (right on the left side of your picture) to get the URL address... That is YOUR RSS address of your OUTSIDE BLOG!
Copie these URL adresses and use them to Submit.
Hope I helped!
Michael, I am glad to give you a hand... takes a little concentration and work but is worth it!
About your question on how to improve your OUTSIDE BLOG! I just put out there a post on that topic. How to spice up your OUTSIDE BLOG... You may find it helpful.
Good luck!
Jimmy, You're welcome.
Gary, Glad to give a little push and help making this job easier.
Gregory, I extended my explanation on the post above (revisit the post) explaining all (that I know) about RSS... Hope I helped with the explanation
Great idea...thanks a bunch...you make it sound sooo easy....the challenge will be later if it IS easy...we are not all techno-grads unfortunately.
Arina, Great post and thanks for all the links. I clicked on the link for begoodbe and that site immediately tried to load a trojan on my computer. Virus checker caught it. So be careful out there.
Arina -- Thank you so much for compiling this list! Like many others here, I've submitted to one or two places, but haven't taken such a comprehensive approach. You're great!
thanks for the info will be adding to bookmark!
thanks for the info will be adding to bookmark!
Andrew, Thank you for the alert... I should of mention that there is indeed a danger in using all those site (like any other sites on Internet) of catchinga bug. Any site that is exposed to that kind of trafficc is vulnerable. I assume that most of us have an reliable anti virus program.
Thank you for the tip.
Mirela, I am sorry it took so long to answer your gracious invitation to post this one on your Group. Thank you for taking the time to come by. I never know when or what I should be posting on Optimist Group.
Thanks a million.

Wow thi sis excellent- thank you for making seem so simple!
DeAnna, If you clicked on the RSS icon on your OUTSIDE BLOG and did not open a new page for your RSScontend means that it is something wrong with your blog. It is nothing you can do but wait for couple of hours and try again. If still doesn't display the page in a new window send a Request to Contact ActiveRain desktop. It is something on their system,
Dawn, It may have something to do with my Attention short span... LOL
For me to understand (about anything) I need order and clarity so I explain things the way I think, I see them and I understand better. Thank you for coming by.
I'm bookmarking this one. This is the one thing I have trouble with. I can never get the RSS feed to work properly on my web site.
Arina,When I thought I was just learning almost all I needed to know, you presented another critical piece. Excellent Blog!
Lisa, Tell me what do you mean by I can never get the RSS feed to work properly on my web site.? Maybe I can help.

What are the drawbacks to submitting your site to "too many" of these feed-sites?
Arina, I love this post. I had it at the top before; I'm putting it at the top again.
Thanks going to submit my website right now.
Thank you for the submission list. I just added about a dozen.
Several are no longer active.
This is so helpful Arina. I keep coming back to it. Thank you for posting this!

If you are a Godaddy user, they have a product called traffic blazer. It has a bunch of blog links and indexes. They also have a quick blogcast if you want to set up your own. It's real easy to use and customizable. Godaddy has great prices on domain names and hosting.
Awesome, thank you!
Hello Arina! I was wondering if you can tell me how I would do this if I have video on my blogs? When I went to my ActiveBlog and clicked on the RSS feed. My video's where not on my blogs. What do I do now? Will the end user see the RSS feed site without the video or will they be sent back to my ActiveBlog. I am just learning about this as you where my first Blog that made sense to me.
