It is the season... and did not get my flu shoot to prevent it! I've got the bug!... the rabbit super MeMe bug !!!
And she gave it to me... Thank you Mirela! OUCH, I've Been Bit!
I don't really like to talk about me ... But this time The MeMe format is more like a Questionnaire Q/A and feel easier to stick with the questions... HERE YOU HAVE IT!
- Who is your favorite musical artist?
I love the piano classic (and jazz) music most of all. From early age I was exposed to piano classical music and I love - "Moonlight Sonata" (1st Movement) - by Ludwig van Beethoven ... My mother will play it for me and my sister when going to sleep... It was our lullaby! and she was young, beautiful and very talented!... It's my most precious memory.
It's my favorite piece in the whole world!
Please let the video play the music while reading the post.
- Who is your favorite artist?

TIBURON - The Ocean and flowers-March 2004 |

Lance Armstrong - Tour de France 2004 |
My incredible talented nephew Luca Jacque who was only 3 years old in 2004 when he had an exhibition with @ 30 painting. He did all his work under my father's supervision and painting lessons.
My father organized the exhibition at the Marin College show room in July 2005...
****************************

As for my favorite movie actor: Definitely George Clooney.
He has what it takes to be a real Hollywood Movie Star: Charisma, Personal magnetism, Masculine beauty and Class.
He is in many ways today's Carry Grand... So I see him ! Could be my mother's influence on my vision about the old movies times when "Movies were great movies" and old movie stars "WERE STARS"...
- If you could meet anyone (alive or dead), who would it be and what is the most interesting thing about them?
I always wanted to meet Shirley MacLane.... I am a big fan of her - everything - movies, books and views about spiritual life. Since I saw her movie "Out on the Limb" I want nothing more than to travel to Machu Picchu - Peru- and experience first hand the magic and power of that land...
- Who has been the person in your life that has had the greatest impact on you?
That would definitely be my grandfather Tom who comforted me when I needed him; and put a smile on my face when I was sad or down; I miss him dearly and I hope I get to meet him again... He was the most giving generous, warm, funny men - my best friend - He was the only one who knew ME at the deepest level of my soul.
I remember after I came in United State (I was only six years old) calling him on the phone all days (every days) long, (while back there in Europe was the middle of night) telling him all that I did that day. He was sweet and patient making jokes here and there... but so terrible confused and so was I! But we kept talking to his last day on earth... I was with him that day!
- What did you want to be when you grew up?
I always dreamed to live on a farm, have at least 4 kids, dogs, horses, and all that animals ... Anything but a city girl!!! So I guess I wanted to be a farmer -:)
- If you could do anything what would you do?
Always loved animals... all kind of shapes, sizes or breeds. As a child I wanted to have a horse, later I collected all kind of animals and adopted them as my pets: cats, dogs, birds (cockatoo), hamsters, iguana (yes you heard it!), ferret....
I would love to be able to open an animal shelter... Brakes my heart to see how many of them are abused, mistreated and lost. To me they are the forgotten creature on earth.
- What is the most interesting piece of trivia you know?
Trivia for
The Rat Pack (1998)
Don Cheadle only had a couple of weeks to prepare for the role of Sammy Davis Jr.. He learned to sing, tap dance, play drums, play trumpet and twirl six-shooter pistols like Davis did. He took tap dance lessons from Savion Glover.
- If you could live in any point in history what would it be and why?
No preference, no expectation... I will be the same doing the same. By the way I believe that we have many lives over time and probably we keep coming back to learn more and become better people.
- When you look into the mirror, who do you see?
I started not likeing to look in the mirror (unless I have to put on my makeup -:)) lately I see the fine lines where were not supposed to be, here and there gray hair (I hate that one) and depends... on the day: sometimes I like what I see sometimes I don't!
- What is the most interesting job you have ever held?
For 10 years I was working in fashion industry and had my own line of clothing.... Yes designing clothing is a fantastic job.
- What is the worst job you've ever had?
I don't think that I had bad jobs ever... Always enjoyed what I was doing... but again I was always doing what I wanted to do!
I do what I like and I like what I do!
- What is your biggest missed opportunity?
I don't know if I had any great opportunity yet! so I am not missing anything yet... Waiting for one and ready to grab it!

Playing by the rules I have to call 3(three) of my favorite ActiveRain colleges to take the torch of MeMe (Questionnaire)
Mary Warren http://activerain.com/marysellslv

Carole Provenzale http://activerain.com/blogs/proven123

Carol Culkin http://activerain.com/blogs/caculkin

Very nice Arina. I love what you say about your grandpa Tom... I am sure he is smiling at you.
Good luck
Thank you for comment. Yes,I am sure he does...
Arina, this was a beautiful blog. I love your choice of music and I respected your instructions; it's still playing now. I think I'll write a long comment, or read the blog again until the end of the song.
Your grandfather is still with you, watching over you...
Michael, I love this side of you! Ever so playful!
What do you do: pour yourself into hours and hours of exhausting cerebral calisthenics, then come over here on the Optimist playground and goof around?
GOOD!
Mirela, Thank you for inviting me to post on Optimistic group, and thank you for pointing ME to MeMe... As YOU know we have very strong roots... in spite of were ever life took us the roots are intact... My soul will always be THERE!
Michael, Thank you for reading your old friend's post... and thank you for sweet thoughts.
I might go to Peru for a summer... maybe longer! depends on how long I can take ...
Michael, Writing your MeMe shouldn't take that long... just close your eyes and let all your thoughts go... Answer the questions!
As for the "career-destroying and over-exposing" effect of MeMe's you right! There are cynics around us who look down to people who open their heart and over expose themselves.
Are you affraid of that?... then don't do it!
By the way Arina, IF I was a man, I'd want to be George Clooney. As a woman I do not find him appealing, although I think he is a true charmer and a good person (I've watched his documentary - the one he made with his father and I was impressed by his passion for humanity and for doing the right thing. I was also impressed with the relationship he has with his father).
Yes, Mirela I agree. George Clooney is doing great humanitarian work and with passion and humility. He is a good man. And it is true that he has great bound with his family, his father and aunt in particular. But I was not looking at him as a sex symbol... just as a unique quality of style he has. He is aloof and private - just like Carry Grand - not perfect... but he is different that the rest of Hollywood crowed.
Arina, Great Meme, I'm sorry I didn't get to it sooner, I've been out of the rain...and will do my MeMe soon.
I have to say we'd like to meet the same person, Shirley McClaine would absolutely be my answer as well to hear about her experiences in Peru!
Carole, I am so glad that you accepted my invitation... Should be fascinating, as I know what an exceptional person you are.
Agree, in spite of so much indifference, from the media, Shirley MacLane is a fascinating, intelligent super refined mind... and Peru should be "a life time spiritual experience"
Great meme,
The music was so relaxing while reading the post.
Arina, a terrific Super MeMe by you. And I learned with your love of classical music that the Moonlight Sonata is one I play too. My piano teacher made me practice that one till I got it right. I love that you had the closeness with your grandfather when you first moved here. I also share your love for animals and had this childhood thought once about being a veterinarian. Your nephew is wonderfully creative with his painting. Thank you so much for sharing more of you with us all who already knew what a beautiful person you are!
Outstanding Meme Arina! Mirela stung me as well and I wasn't prepared for how difficult the post would be. I love your nehpew's artwork and feel your pain regarding the loss of your grandfather. I'm so happy ... that despite distance and mortality you've built great memories and forged a bond that can not be broken.
Arina, very good meme and lovely music! I found very moving what you said about your grandfather, I also had a special relationship with mine. Haven't met you before in the rain... but I read Carole's blog and here I am. I'm glad it pointed me to your blog.
Griselda, I thank you so much for coming by. For some people I sound a little wired to keep talking about my grandfather so much... but he was very special man. I am sure your grandfather was too - otherwise we won't feel so strong about them.
