Trump Tower -Las Vegas- Grand Opening... faces a challenge?

High-rise condominiums on Las Vegas Strip have become a popular choice in urban Las Vegas. Condominium developers have chosen to construct vertical on residential units because of the high cost of land in Las Vegas.

Trump Tower Approaches Las Vegas Debut

Donald Trump's Vegas condo and hotel, set to soon open its first 64-story, 1,282-unit luxury tower. Trump International is anticipated to be the most glamorous address in Las Vegas. Located in the heart of Las Vegas, the Trump is being built immediately adjacent to the Fashion Show Mall and in close proximity to the Venetian Hotel and the new Wynn Resort. All of the units are condominium hotel suites, allowing for full time residency, nightly rental or a combination of both.

The fate of the high-profile Trump project is sure to reflect on the many expensive condo projects set to open around the Strip in the next few years.

High-rise luxury condo prices are way down in Las Vegas, reflecting local and national housing trends.

Tower I still has a few units available, and Trump is taking orders for the identical second tower, which hasn't broken ground. The company has received deposits for about one-third of the Tower II units since the project was announced in May 2007

I saw this building in September when I did visit L.V. for the first time. I think they could do much better with exterior than just a tall box.... What is the average price per sq.ft?

I wonder/worry about all of the condo construction.  Apparently they are selling them, but i know some markets (So. FL) have years of inventory.

Lane, You're right. It remains to be seen. The predictions are widely spread. Thanks for your comment.

Arina, I remember Trump promoting this building on that TV show of his, "The Apprentice." Condo prices in many areas of the country have taken a hit with the oversupply problem. The DOM in downtown Dallas has risen faster for condos than single family homes. And in Florida some people can't even give condos away in a few areas.
