I was at the right time in the right place. While visiting my family in San Francisco over the weekend I had the opportunity to attend the Green Conference and Expo on Saturday Sept.22 at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium.
With nearly 14,000 attendees and 250 exhibitors, this event was strong in the expanding world of green building conferences. West Coast Green featured presentations delivered by over 270 political leaders, industry analysts, green building experts and national celebrities.
- The first 2 days of West Coast Green was scheduled as a professional trade conference open only to builders and architects. Going further West Coast Green will offer more than 100 American Institute of Architects (AIA) learning units in tracks such as construction, landscape, remodeling and health...
- The third and final day of the event was for Homeowner and featured community leaders and visionaries. Homeowners looking to design and build a new, energy-efficient green home- or those looking to upgrade the efficiency of their existing homes... the trade show floor and looking at hundreds of products and services, remodel, power, insulate, clean furnish and finance their green homes.
The green building industry is growing so fast that both the architect and builder behind the home. Presentations ranged from creating a bay-friendly garden, installing photovoltaic panels, energy efficient home design, and every thing is geared toward residential applications.
It was educational and productive... My father, a retired Architect, dedicates his time and efforts in designing green houses and teaching on this subject at the Marin College. I came back with a big bag of brochures and presentations. Now I need a little time to go over some intersting pieces and blog about them. Soon!

Hi Arina, Great that your trip coordinated with this show! I am looking forward to USGBC's big show in Chicago Nov 7 - 9!
Hi Arina,
I have spent 15 years in Architecture and I am excited that architects are getting more green as they design, and builders using green materials.
