Is Google email (gmail) making you look... professional?

I just came across of an excellent post : What Kind of Email Address - as a Real Estate Professional - Do You Use? Yahoo? AOL? Hotmail? by Teri Ellis

And just hit me; Wow, she is so wright. There is quite unprofessional to present yourself with an email address that is a free service when (most probably we all have our real estate website) we should use the website email.

I am myself guilty of this. I've been using for long time now an gmail address. Why? Three reasons:

  • Because it was easy and quite in trend to use Google's services...
  • Google Account is a powerful program to work with, as provides so many tools all in one place : AdSense, AdWords, Base, Blogger, Calendar, iGoogleWebmaster Tools, Docs...and much more. As I am using all those Google tools it was easier for me to get use their Gmail
  • Because my website domain name is very long and hard to type on the send out emails -:(

After using gmail for such a long time is quite difficult to change the email address. So in order to keep my email in one place with all those other Google tools, I came up with an easy solution:

The problem I have is that I have to go back and change business cards, flyer's, advertising's and website's.

What do you think? Is Google's email (gmail) address so compromising for a real estate professional? Should I go through all the trouble and time consuming to change my email to the website address?... This is what Google does to you.

The art of building relationship with your clients...

Buying a home (specially for the first time) is an powerful personal experience. You may never forget the agent who sold you the first property... And even down the road your real-estate agent is someone who you'll keep in your mind for long time. It is an emotional moment in life associated with the most cherished dream for many people.

Keeping good relations with clients is very important for real estate agents. If a client is satisfied with you, you have better chances of another deal with that client.
Satisfied clients also send their friends and relatives to you, which is a clear indication of the level of their satisfaction with your services.

How to establish long lasting relationship with clients:

First of all your relationship doesn't stop when a deal is closed, do not forget your clients. Like any relationship, either personal or business, needs your careful dedication. Try to stay in touch with them and do not miss any opportunity of further growing this relationship.

Create a mailing list with all your clients addresses, emails and personal informations(don't forget their birthday...) send them greeting cards for special occasions, give it a personal touch by congratulating them when their son completes his studies or their daughter moves to the first grade  and keep in touch with them. Make them feel important to you and do not forget that if you are taking care of them they would not consider switching to another real estate agent.

Overwhelmingly statistic shows that satisfied clients will return to you for services and recommend to other friends, coworkers or family.

METHOD USED TO SELL HOME, BY SELLER URGENCY... Statistics LAS Vegas

METHOD USED TO SELL HOME, BY SELLER URGENCY

The majority of Sellers are using an agent or a broker. If the property is priced right, it will sell within 30 days.

Interesting to see that when a sellers are somewhat motivates or in dear emergency, they try to sell themselves the property only to find out that an agent representation and expertise is more important to successfully sell.

As for FSBO sellers would sell, without a real estate agent, only 4% but not the other way around. Listing the home with a agent and later selling the property by themselves...
